YES Skye, Raasay and Lochalsh campaigned for a Yes vote in 2014, and a better future in an independent Scotland. We came from all political persuasions, and from no political persuasions, to work together for a Yes vote on 18 September 2014.
We provided information to help the community in Skye, Raasay and Lochalsh make the decision to vote Yes in 2014. It did - 55% voted YES.
But it wasn't to be. Project Fear did its work and the referendum was lost.
But still we hope that Scotland will become an independent country where the people who care most about Scotland, that is, the people live in Scotland are those best placed to take the decisions about their own future.
As a group, we held monthly meetings throughout the winter months of 2014/15 and are kicking off again this November (2016).
The Yes campaign reached out to everyone that lives in Scotland. It still doesn't matter where we come from, it's where are going that counts.
We are proud to still be working towards an independent Scotland.
The dream shall never die.
